Full Description

The La Bella Otero Blonde Torpedo 6 1/4 x 54 is an elegant, beautifully shaped expression of Cigar Art’s reimagining of a forgotten Cuban cigar name.

La Bella Otero was once a Cuban cigar marque, produced before the Revolution and eventually lost to history. But the name has a particularly meaningful connection to Cigar Art: when we opened in Dallas in 2012, genuine pre-Castro La Bella Otero cigars were among the rare vintage Cuban cigars offered in our humidor.

More than a decade later, we’re giving La Bella Otero a new chapter.

The Blonde Torpedo features a silky Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. The combination is designed around texture, aroma, and balance rather than sheer strength, delivering the signature La Bella Otero character: smooth, buttery, creamy, and quietly seductive.

The opening is soft and luxurious, with buttered toast, fresh cream, and cedar leading the profile. Toasted almond and a delicate honey-like sweetness emerge behind them, while the Nicaraguan tobaccos contribute gentle white pepper and warm baking spice.

As the cigar develops, look for café con leche, warm bread, roasted nuts, and cedar, all carried by a rich, creamy texture. The larger 54-ring-gauge body provides plenty of room for the Nicaraguan core to express itself, while the tapered Torpedo head allows the smoke to become more concentrated at the draw.

The result is perhaps the most indulgent presentation of La Bella Otero Blonde: elegant in the hand, creamy on the palate, and substantial enough for a long, unhurried experience.

It’s not a cigar built to overpower you.

It’s built to seduce you.

The La Bella Otero Story

A forgotten Cuban cigar. A legendary woman. A new chapter.

La Bella Otero was once part of Cuba’s extraordinary cigar tradition, a pre-Revolution marque that eventually disappeared.

But decades later, the original cigars found their way to Cigar Art.

When Cigar Art opened in Dallas in 2012, genuine pre-Castro La Bella Otero cigars were among the exceptionally rare vintage Cuban cigars in our humidor. The new La Bella Otero collection brings a name that has been part of our story from the beginning into a completely new era.

And then there is the woman behind the name.

Carolina Otero, better known as La Belle Otero, became one of the great personalities of Europe’s Belle Époque. A celebrated dancer, actress, courtesan, and international beauty, she became synonymous with glamour, desire, extravagance, and scandal.

Today’s La Bella Otero isn’t an attempt to reproduce an unknown historic Cuban recipe.

It’s a reimagining of its spirit.

The Blonde is silky Connecticut wrapped around a warm Nicaraguan heart—elegant, indulgent, and deliberately sensual.

Beauty. Pleasure. Indulgence.

FAQs

What is the La Bella Otero Blonde Torpedo?

The La Bella Otero Blonde Torpedo is a 6 1/4 x 54 Cigar Art exclusive featuring a Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. It's the Torpedo expression of our smooth, buttery La Bella Otero Blonde blend.

What does La Bella Otero Blonde Torpedo taste like?

Expect buttered toast, fresh cream, cedar, toasted almond, honey, café con leche, white pepper, and warm baking spice, with a creamy, lightly sweet finish.

How strong is La Bella Otero Blonde?

La Bella Otero Blonde is mild-medium. It emphasizes smoothness and flavor rather than strength, while its Nicaraguan core provides enough depth to appeal to experienced cigar enthusiasts.

How does the Torpedo compare with the Toro?

The 6 1/4 x 54 Torpedo has a larger body than the 6 x 50 Toro and a tapered head. That combination gives the Nicaraguan core plenty of room while concentrating the smoke through the tapered head, creating a rich, creamy expression of the Blonde blend.

How should I cut the La Bella Otero Torpedo?

Start by removing only a small portion of the tapered cap. One advantage of a Torpedo is the ability to adjust the draw: you can always make a second cut slightly farther down if you'd prefer a more open draw.

Was La Bella Otero originally a Cuban cigar?

Yes. La Bella Otero was a historic pre-Revolution Cuban cigar marque. Today's La Bella Otero by Cigar Art is a modern reimagining, not a reproduction of the original Cuban blend.

What is Cigar Art's connection to the original La Bella Otero?

When Cigar Art opened in Dallas in 2012, genuine pre-Castro La Bella Otero cigars were among the rare vintage Cuban cigars offered in our humidor. More than a decade later, the new collection gives that historic name a new chapter.

What should I pair with the Blonde Torpedo?

Its cream, toast, almond, and honey-like sweetness pair especially well with café con leche, cappuccino, espresso with cream, aged rum, or a softer bourbon.
