Full Description
The La Bella Otero Blonde Toro Box of 20 introduces a new chapter for a name with roots in Cuba’s historic cigar tradition.
Long before today’s familiar Cuban marques came to dominate the conversation, Havana was home to hundreds of cigar brands. La Bella Otero was among them, a pre-Revolution Cuban cigar marque that eventually disappeared into history.
For Cigar Art, however, the name has a more personal connection.
When Cigar Art opened in Dallas in 2012, genuine pre-Castro La Bella Otero cigars were among the exceptionally rare vintage Cuban cigars in our humidor. Contemporary coverage of the shop’s opening even noted that these original La Bella Oteros were available individually for $145 per cigar.
More than a decade later, we’re giving the name a new life.
Today’s La Bella Otero Blonde isn’t intended to reproduce an unknown historic Cuban recipe. Instead, we’ve reimagined the spirit of La Bella Otero as an exclusive modern blend built around elegance, pleasure, and indulgence.
A silky Connecticut wrapper surrounds Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, producing a cigar that is exceptionally smooth, buttery, and creamy without sacrificing character.
The opening draws reveal soft cream, buttered toast, and cedar. Toasted almond and delicate honey-like sweetness soon emerge, while the Nicaraguan core introduces touches of white pepper and warm baking spice.
As the 6 x 50 Toro develops, notes of café con leche, warm bread, roasted nuts, and cedar move through the creamy foundation. The finish remains silky and lightly sweet, with just enough Nicaraguan spice to keep the cigar interesting.
This isn’t a Connecticut designed simply to be mild.
It’s designed to be luxurious.
Smooth enough for the morning. Complex enough for an experienced aficionado. And seductive enough to live up to the name La Bella Otero.

The La Bella Otero Story
A forgotten Cuban cigar. A legendary woman. A new chapter.
La Bella Otero was once part of Cuba’s rich cigar history—a pre-Revolution marque that eventually disappeared.
But its story didn’t end there.
When Cigar Art opened in Dallas in 2012, genuine pre-Castro La Bella Otero cigars were among the rare vintage Cubans in our humidor. More than a decade later, we’re returning to a name that has been part of the Cigar Art story from the beginning.
And behind that name is an equally remarkable inspiration.
Carolina Otero—La Belle Otero— became one of the great celebrities of Europe’s Belle Époque. Dancer, actress, courtesan, international beauty, and subject of seemingly endless fascination, her name became synonymous with glamour, romance, scandal, and indulgence.
Today’s La Bella Otero captures the spirit rather than attempting to recreate the past.
The Blonde is the softer expression: silky Connecticut wrapped around a warm Nicaraguan heart.
Beauty. Pleasure. Indulgence.
