La Promesa Corona Gorda 5.5 x 48
La Promesa, 'The Promise,' refers to the promise made by company patriarch Jose 'Pepin' Garcia to his family before leaving his native Cuba. He promised to prove himself, to make something of himself in the cigar world outside of Cuba. He promised to honor his family and his tobacco heritage. According to My Father, the company as it stands today with its farms in Nicaragua and factories in both Nicaragua and Miami is the fulfillment of that promise. My Father-La Promesa is covered in a dark, Ecuadoran Habano rosado oscuro wrapper, with binder and filler tobaccos from the Garcia family farms in Nicaragua.
Wrapper: Ecuadoran Habano rosado oscuro
Filler: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
A subtle cigar. While looks dark, certainly a milder option at maybe medium bodied. Subtle tones, slight wisp of some chocolate. Certainly an easy cigar to smoke with no spice or pepper present. A good option if you want to avoid the classic peppery and spicy qualities of most MF cigars. While be subtle in flavor, it is a well made product with a nice aesthetic presentation.
